The third of three gigs in Los Angeles on Sunday night (Nov. 20) marked the conclusion of The Rocket Man’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, which is the Rocket Man’s final tour.
When Lipa joined him on stage for their popular 2021 song “Cold Heart,” which had just won the best collaboration award at the 2022 American Music Awards, Elton made it a night to remember.
“Cold Heart,” a remix of Elton John’s songs “Sacrifice,” “Rocket Man,” “Kiss the Bride,” and “Where’s My Shoorah” by the Australian electronic group PNAU, broke numerous records.
It topped the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart on Billboard, received a Brit Award nomination for song of the year, won the APRA AMCOS Billion Award for surpassing one billion streams, and reached No. 1 in the UK and Australia.
The Lockdown Sessions, the album that served as the foundation for “Cold Heart,” also gave Elton his first U.K. No. 1 LP in nearly ten years.

The performance from Sunday night was recorded for the special, Elton John Live From Dodger Stadium, which is only available on Disney+. Fulwell 73 Productions and Rocket Entertainment were responsible for its production.
There were more famous guests on stage besides Lipa. Kiki Dee and Brandi Carlile joined Elton for performances of their peppy 1970s hit “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” and “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me,” respectively.
Elton started what was to be his final tour in 2018, but it was cut short in 2020 by illness and the pandemic. His farewell trip is only the third tour in history to surpass the $600 million mark, after U2’s 360 Tour ($736.4 million) and Ed Sheeran’s The Divide Tour ($776.4 million), according to data provided to Billboard Boxscore.
The actual conclusion is planned for July 8, 2023, when Elton plays at Stockholm, Sweden’s Tele2 Arena.
