About 100 soldiers were killed during fighting on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Tuesday as strikes on both sides fueled worries that the longstanding rivals will engage in more extensive warfare.
Since the end of a separatist war in Nagorno-Karabakh in 1994,
ethnic Armenian forces supported by Armenia have controlled the region,

which is part of Azerbaijan but is disputed by the two nations.
In a six-week conflict in 2020 that resulted in a peace agreement mediated by Russia,
Azerbaijan took back large portions of Nagorno-Karabakh.
