2nd cost of living payment: The second installment of a targeted cost-of-living payment will start going out to eight million people on low incomes who receive specific benefits.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) stated that the £324 payment would be sent straight into bank accounts between now and November 23.

By the end of the month, those who are eligible will get it thanks to tax credits.

The grants, which total £326 and were paid out earlier this year, are intended to help with growing costs.

The assistance, totaling £650, is for anyone receiving specific benefits throughout the UK, including pension credit and universal credit. The majority of the government’s direct financial support is used to help people with costs like electricity bills.

The receivers’ national insurance number is referenced in the payment along with “DWP COL,” and the funds are transferred immediately into the same accounts used to receive benefits payments.

Everyone is reminded to exercise caution so they don’t fall victim to scam artists that prey on people who are looking for money. There is no need to submit any extra information because the formal payments will be made automatically.

Receiving one of the following benefits is a requirement for eligibility:

Universal Credit
income-based Jobseekers Allowance
income-related Employment and Support Allowance
Income Support
working tax credit
child tax credit
pension credit

With the exception of pensioner households, who may be able to have a fresh pension credit claim backdated, they must have been claiming and entitled to a benefits payment between 26 August and 25 September in order to be eligible for the most recent installment.

If a person receives New Style Employment and Support Allowance, Contributory Employment, and Support Allowance, or New Style Jobseeker’s Allowance, they are not eligible for these benefits – unless they receive Universal Credit.
