Independence Day Speech in English for Kids

Good day, everyone!

Good morning and Happy 77th Independence Day to all of my esteemed instructors and close friends.

Today, as we commemorate our 77th year of independence, we should be grateful to be citizens of an independent nation where we have free speech and the freedom to live our lives as we see fit.

India gained independence on August 15, 1947, after over 200 years of British rule and a sustained battle by our liberation fighters.

On this day, our first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, unfurled and raised the national flag on Red Fort Delhi. Every year since then, every government agency, school, and college has celebrated Independence Day. So, on this great day, let us take the vow and promise ourselves that we will always safeguard our nation by maintaining brotherhood, helping others, and educating ourselves.

Finally, I want to wish you all a happy Independence Day and hope that we can work together to develop a magnificent nation.
