Job Description of Cabinet Shops Helper in Canada
The Construction Manager will oversee the work of the Cabinetry Shop Helper. The employee will assist the other carpenters and cabinetmakers in the shop and on job sites with various tasks. Additionally, the individual is responsible to pick up goods from suppliers, transport them to the Cabinetry Shop, and deliver them to project locations.
Responsibilities on the Job
- The cabinet shop, warehouse, and equipment must all be kept clean.
- Making certain that all cabinets are organized, supplied, and branded.
- Organizing and shipping all cabinets that arrive at the business.
- Following all workplace safety requirements and demonstrating shop safety.
- Giving consumers outstanding customer service.
- Relationship-building with coworkers.
- Assisting carpenters and cabinetmakers with tool organization, furniture packaging, and other tasks as needed.
- Being presentable, having decent manners, and behaving respectfully towards coworkers.
- Maintaining internal environmental/recycling programs.
- Providing, storing, uploading, and emailing comprehensive photos of arriving cabinets.
- Cabinets and cabinet pieces must be measured, cleaned, wrapped, and protected.
- Google Sheets is used to update, manage, and save the localization list.
- Transporting goods and pieces to and from suppliers.
- Assisting cabinetmakers in loading and unloading cabinets and other materials into and out of cars.
- When necessary, inventory is updated.
- Completing your timecard on a daily basis.
Job Prerequisites
- A high school diploma or its equivalent is required.
- Good cleaning and organizational abilities are required.
- Previous warehousing experience is regarded as advantageous.
- Previous familiarity with power and hand tools is a plus.
- Experience as a carpenter, cabinetmaker, or millworker is a plus.
- A valid Class 7 (N) license is required.
- To be approved, you must successfully complete a criminal background check.
- Experience in customer service is seen as a plus.
- You must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office, as well as Google Sheets, are considered strengths.
