The dancer-DJ also made appearances in movies including “Step Up: All In” and “Magic Mike XXL” and was a featured dancer in this year’s Disney+ production, “The Hip Hop Nutcracker.” On “So You Think You Can Dance,” he had also placed second, and in the following season, he served as a judge.

The Alabama native attended Southern Union State Community College and Chapman University to further her education in dance performance.

His love of dancing permeated every aspect of his life since he idolized great dancers like Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire.

To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive influence will still be felt, said Holker.

Boss started spinning records on “Ellen” in 2014, and he stayed until the daytime talk show’s 2022 finale. He was appointed an executive producer by DeGeneres in 2020.

After placing second in “So You Think You Can Dance” Season 4, Boss made his Hollywood debut. He began getting bigger roles in “Step Up 3D” and “Magic Mike XXL” after dancing as an extra in movies like “Blades of Glory” and “Hairspray.” Along with these shows, Boss has appeared in Ghostbusters, Love, East Los High, Bones, Touch, and Famous in Love.

He choreographed for K-pop stars Seven and Big Bang early in his career. Later, Boss co-founded CLI Studios, a company that provides top choreographers with online dance classes.

Boss, who was born and raised in Alabama, first attended Southern Union State Community College to study dance before moving to Chapman University. In 2013, he wed Holker, and the two eventually had three kids. “Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings,” a Disney+ documentary series, was hosted by the couple.
