Significant snow squalls are predicted to enter the region from the north and last all day today. Tonight, snow squalls will leave the area.
It’s common for weather conditions to drastically change during snow squalls, going from clear skies to heavy snow in just a few kilometers. Be prepared for travel conditions that will change and deteriorate quickly.
Occasionally, heavy snowfall and snowstorms will cause visibility to abruptly drop to almost nothing. Be ready to modify your driving style as the weather and road conditions change. Travel that is not necessary could be postponed until the situation becomes better.
People in and around the aforementioned areas are urged to check back frequently for updates and to keep an eye on Environment Canada’s advisories and predictions, which can be found here for Almaguin and here for the North Bay—West Nipissing regions.
