Taylor Swift fans are upset with Ticketmaster after a massive concert pre-sale demand jams the website.
Tuesday marked the start of pre-sales for a few of the singer’s tour dates. But angry fans claim that when they tried to purchase tickets, the booking website crashed or appeared to freeze. Despite having a pre-sale code for verified fans, many complained on Twitter that Ticket-master was not loading or letting them access tickets.
“I received a code and entered the correct account information, but it says I’m not verified?! What do I do? asked a follower on Twitter. Others echoed it, with several demanding “FIX THIS” from Ticketmaster.
But according to Ticketmaster, “people are actively buying tickets” and “the site is not down.”
Tuesday afternoon, Ticket-master tweeted a follow-up statement, claiming that “there has been historically unprecedented demand with millions showing up” to purchase Swift’s tour tickets. Customers who were still in the virtual line were advised to “hang tough” and that the line was moving.
Pre-sale periods for Swift’s other concerts have been moved by Ticket-master in response to demand. The business said: “We appreciate your patience as we continue to handle this massive demand.”
The business advised customers not to use the Ticketmaster webpage to access the queue after receiving a code for the TaylorSwiftTix Presale. Instead, they should login and use the link they received through text message. This will provide the best possible shopping experience.
“The Eras Tour’s” North American leg kicks off on March 18 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, and ends on August 5 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
